If you haven't already checked out aquarium drunkard's (now old) posts on 60s garage rock you should definitely drop whatever you're doing and do that immediately (you can download an entire compilation, part one is here). Every one of the 25 songs is great (60s garage rock is inherently great), and all the bands are so obscure I doubt anyone even remembers being in them. My two favorites are "I Want A Rain" by the language-challenged Excecutioners and the Beatles rip-off "Weatherman" by The Tears.

Also everyone should hear "Talk Talk" before they die. It is about how inarticulate people in garage rock bands are.

Thank you.

An idea: WMCN should pool all of its resources into reuniting one of these bands and getting them to come play here.

If anyone can tell me where to track down the comp Searchin for Shakes: Swedish Beat 65-68, I will love them forever.
