two things i can think to say about the vaselines are that they made really great, scuzz-fuzz indie-rock and also that they weren’t all that good at playing their instruments, which in its own way was kind of a good thing.
the band wasn’t around for all that long, just a couple years, but the fact that they existed at all makes the world a slightly better place:

This six piece out of Austin, TX has been around a while, but this is the first time that I have been exposed to their sonic haze and pleasantry. The band is called Okkervil River. The song is called "Our Life is Not A Movie or Maybe". And the album, out today, is called The Stage Names.
